Elizabeth ThompsonOwner & Principal Designer
Desiring a more personalized client experience and hands on approach to interior design, Elizabeth founded House Dressing Interiors in 2009. House Dressing Interiors includes an interior design team of seven with a retail store in the unique Midtown section of Gainesville, Ga. A Georgia Bulldog through and through, this entrepreneur received her Bachelor of Family and Consumer Science in furnishings and interiors from the University of Georgia in 2004 launching her 15+ year career in interior design.
Elizabeth believes the design process should be a collaborative effort that results in beautiful, livable space for each client – after all it is their home. Working closely with each client to form a clear idea of what they envision for their space, Elizabeth dedicates herself to her client’s vision and brings her listening skills, creativity, ethics, professional knowledge and experience to every project, whether large or small.
Elizabeth exudes passion and style with a keen eye for detail in her work, and she willingly carries that dedication and expertise into her community to make a difference in the place she has called home for most of her life. She not only lives in Hall County, but also is active in helping it grow, improve and change through her involvement with organizations such as the Junior League of Hall County, Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, Gainesville First United Methodist Church and her children’s PTA. Although passionate about design, her true passion is her family. Elizabeth and her husband Ryan are proud parents of their two beautiful children, Knowles and Carden, and their family dogs, Hoppy and Jake.

Since joining the House Dressing team in 2017, she’s enjoyed being able to create spaces that are not only full of beautiful things, but that also stimulate positive change.
Anna has played the violin since the age of four and has been a private violin instructor since the age of 14. McKenna HenryDesign Project Manager
A proud local of Gainesville, McKenna didn’t go far when it came time for college, attending the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega. She graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor in business administration and marketing and soon teamed up with a few different local, small businesses, working as a consultant on everything from buying and inventory management to merchandising and more.
After a few years, she found herself at a local community bank in a customer service role while waiting and hoping for the perfect opportunity to open up in her dream field of interior design. With small business experience under her belt and a passion for design, McKenna happily landed at House Dressing. Tasked with keeping each project as orderly as possible, McKenna loves that every day she has the ability to combine management with creativity and design!

Elizabeth EmbryShop Manager & Associate Designer
Elizabeth, or “EE” as we affectionately call her, grew up in south Georgia, but Gainesville has been her home for over 25 years. She married Cooper after dating all through college and was transplanted to north Georgia permanently. After graduating from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in furnishings and interiors, Elizabeth worked at the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center. Once Elizabeth and Cooper started a family, she decided to stay at home with her children but continued to be involved in design. She painted signs and furniture and had a handful of clients that allowed her to stay creative! Now that her youngest is in high school, she has jumped back into the design world full time.
Elizabeth enjoys spending time with family and friends. She loves being a part of the Gainesville community. Although it is not a small town anymore, the connections and friendships make it feel smaller. It is home! Gainesville has been a wonderful place for her and her husband to raise their three children, Charters, Price and Margaret.
Shannon DorseyAssociate Designer
Shannon is a Gainesville transplant who moved to the area to attend Brenau University, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior design, complementing her previous BFA in painting and drawing from Western Carolina. After graduation she moved to Atlanta where she worked for a large architecture firm specializing in multi-family development.
She and her husband, David, missed the small-town atmosphere of Gainesville and moved back before the birth of their first child. Shannon took time off from the design field to stay home while growing her family. She and David are now proud parents to four great children, Brooks, Georgia, Baron and Grace.
Just about the time her youngest started school, Shannon jumped back into the design field and joined the team at House Dressing. She loves being able to use her creativity while helping others. Shannon is involved in the Gainesville community through her children’s schools and church. She enjoys being active and spending time outside with family and friends.
HoppyGreeter & Child Entertainer
Hoppy joined the House Dressing team in June 2016 when she was old enough to know not to chew on things and hop on furniture, and her friendly tail wags have been greeting guests ever since.
While you are shopping or consulting with one of our designers, you are most likely to find Hoppy resting in her custom-made dog bed or begging for dog bones at Gainesville Paint. She also revels in the attention she receives from our customers, especially children. Hoppy loves coming to work with her mom and looks forward to seeing you in the shop soon.
Outside of the time she spends at House Dressing, Hoppy enjoys spending time on the lake with her family and playing with her brother, Knowles, sister, Carden, and puppy-brother, Jake.
