Owner & Interior Designer
Elizabeth is passionate about creating the ideal space for each client including all aspects of color, space, lighting, proportion, function and last but not least – style.
Desiring a more personalized client experience and hands on approach to interior design, Elizabeth founded House Dressing Interiors in 2009. Today, House Dressing Interiors boasts five designers and an interior design retail store in the unique Midtown section of Gainesville, Ga. A Georgia bulldog through and through, this entrepreneur received her Bachelor of Family and Consumer Science degree in Furnishings and Interiors from the University of Georgia in 2004 launching her more than 12-year career in interior design.
Elizabeth believes the design process should be a collaborative effort that results in beautiful, livable space for each client – after all it is their home. To accomplish this goal, it is important to her to establish a relationship with each client that feels comfortable and open. Working closely with each client to form a clear idea of what they envision for their space, Elizabeth dedicates herself to her client’s vision and brings her listening skills, creativity, ethics, professional knowledge and experience to every project, whether large or small.
Elizabeth exudes passion and style with a keen eye for detail in her work, and she willingly carries that dedication and expertise into her community to make a difference in the place she has called home for most of her life. She not only lives in Hall County, but also is active in helping it grow, improve and change through her involvement with organizations such as the Junior League of Hall County, Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, Gainesville First United Methodist Church and her children’s PTA. Although passionate about design, her true passion is her family. Elizabeth and her husband Ryan are proud parents of their two beautiful children, Knowles and Carden, and their family dogs, Hoppy and Jake.
Bringing with her more than ten years’ experience with designers in Highlands, NC, New York City and Atlanta, Lindsey joined the House Dressing team in 2014.
Originally from the small mountain town of Hayesville, N.C., Lindsey attended the University of Georgia where she studied interior design. Her career spans from furniture placement and styling to large scale renovations and new construction. Regardless of project scale, Lindsey’s passion is helping people feel comfortable in their homes. Working with designers such as Darren Whatley in Highlands, NC, Richard Keith Langham in New York, and Phoebe Howard in Atlanta, Lindsey is able to start from scratch or mix old and new to create spaces that truly reflect her clients’ unique tastes and personalities.
Lindsey is a self-described “traditionalist at heart,” creating designs that are timeless with a modern twist. She believes it is important to blend classic and trendy elements always incorporating pieces such as great artwork or family antiques into her rooms.
Outside of design, Lindsey loves to go on walks and spend time with family and friends. Her perfect day consists of burning a new scented candle in a clean house while drinking coffee or hot tea on a fall morning, but a new piece of art or an exciting travel adventure bring her joy too.
Lindsey and her husband Adam, who she met on a blind date arranged by mutual friends, are proud parents to their son, Mitchell, and their family cat, Carson.
Melanie loves the world of design so much that she incorporates style inspiration into her daily life often wearing her current inspiration color as her nail color and creating her own “Melanie-terminology” to describe her latest designs.
After graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in textiles, merchandising and interiors with a concentration in retail management, Melanie co-owned a women’s clothing boutique in Athens, Ga. When she decided to return to her hometown of Gainesville, Melanie built on her retail management background opening a children’s clothing boutique.
Prior to joining House Dressing Interiors, Melanie worked with the interior design firm Andrew Downs & Co. Transitioning into interiors was a natural fit combining Melanie’s undergraduate work with a family tradition of design and decorating. Melanie was exposed to design concepts early in life growing up with a mother, grandmothers and aunts who all loved their homes, loved decorating and had an affinity for blue and white! As a child she spent her weekends browsing flea markets and estate sales with her grandmother who owns an antique store. Melanie’s love of blue and white and her appreciation of something old are evident in almost all her design projects. Other signature design elements include Chinioserie and grasscloth, which Melanie tries to incorporate anywhere she can.
Melanie finds excitement and inspiration in unique pairings and helping pull together a space truly reflective of her clients’ personalities. In addition to her love for interior design, she enjoys reading, spending time on the lake and in the mountains, and being part of the spiritual formation team at Grace Episcopal Church, where she recently served for several years as the Director of Children’s Ministries.
Melanie resides in Gainesville with her husband, Codie and two children, Catelynn and Henry.
Janice has lived in Gainesville most of her life and has loved raising her children, Mills and Anna here. She and Travis, the Krystal guy have been married for 28 years.
Janice is a key member of the House Dressing team working part-time as office manager. With her infectious smile and warm personality, she greets customers and assists with their design questions and needs. When not at House Dressing, she helps her husband with marketing for their Krystal restaurants.
A graduate of the University of Georgia, Janice is an avid college football fan, enjoys music of all kinds and loves spending time on Lake Lanier and with her black Labrador retrievers, Grits and Kasey.
Store Manager/Design Assistant
Originally from Jackson, Miss., Haley is a graduate of The University of Mississippi. Her design career started in Southern California and Napa Valley wine country with event design where she worked with different personalities, style preferences and venues to meet the unique needs of each client and design events that were special for the hosts and their guests.
Yearning to have a lasting impression on her client’s lives, Haley shifted her focus to interior design upon moving to New Orleans and joined the team at Rivers Spencer Interiors. Here she had the privilege of working on many historic home renovations where she could incorporate her lifelong love of antique mirrors and chests while mixing in modern upholstery and local artwork. Hayley finds design inspiration from pieces of art that are special and meaningful to clients and enjoys incorporating art to showcase her client’s personal style.
After spending time in Charleston, Los Angeles and New Orleans, Haley settled in the Gainesville. She has always enjoyed visiting the area, where her husband has family. In fact, her two nieces live around the corner. After recently welcoming their first child, Ann Morgan, Haley and her husband David believe Gainesville’s charm offers the perfect place to raise their growing family.
When Haley isn’t cooking her favorite Creole dishes or experimenting with new recipes, she loves to be at the lake or beach, and to spend fall weekends watching Ole Miss and Saints football games with her beloved Rottweiler, Rebel.
Greeter & Child Entertainer
Hoppy joined the House Dressing team in June 2016 when she was old enough to know not to chew on things and hop on furniture, and her friendly tail wags have been greeting guests ever since.
While you are shopping or consulting with one of our designers, you are most likely to find Hoppy resting in her custom-made dog bed or begging for dog bones at Gainesville Paint. She also revels in the attention she receives from our customers, especially children. Hoppy loves coming to work with her mom and looks forward to seeing you in the shop soon.
Outside of the time she spends at House Dressing, Hoppy enjoys spending time on the lake with her family and playing with her brother, Knowles, sister, Carden, and puppy-brother, Jake.
